If I were in your shoes, I would focus more on the process and on good habits , rather than on the ultimate goal of being free of credit card debt. I paid bills, had all the logins, did the tax returns, and so on. Daily habits are manageable and not nearly so overwhelming as looking at a pile of debt!

Any housing related insurance fees and property taxes are also important to include. Monthly clothing costs would include any pants, shirts, dresses, shoes, and outfits that are needed for you, your spouse, or your kids. This is the category where cell phone bills, movies, electronics, video games, and the internet would fall.

Certain types of shoes were also forbidden (such as flip flops or tennis shoes). You can’t even write it off on your taxes either! Business casual clothing was what it called for – meaning khaki pants and a collared shirt for the guys and the same for the girls unless they choose to wear a dress or skirt/blouse.

medical bills, a small credit card, both of our cars, and student loans. burden for us at first were the medical bills. we still weren’t making enough money to cover all of our monthly bills. bills, I felt like our checks were spent the second we received them. racks FIRST when shopping for clothes and shoes.

I can’t even imagine how many repair bills from plumbers, electricians, appliance techs, and auto mechanics he has saved us over the years. Alan and I, by choice, bought land in an area with low property taxes. Had we not fallen in love with the locale, it wouldn’t have mattered how low the taxes were, but fall in love we did.
