Also, we needed to make some much-needed repairs to our home and office that really couldn’t wait until we paid off six figures. However, when we paid off our very last non-mortgage debt, we planned a cruise to celebrate. The entire week on the cruise, my husband and I looked at each other in disbelief at what we accomplished.

We celebrated both occasions with a family cruise that we paid for with cash. We also had some building repairs that we needed to cash flow. Once the time came, as a family, we decided on a cruise over Thanksgiving instead of Disney. Once the time came, we settled on a family cruise and had a fantastic time. Brain dump!

I cried for days and we celebrated the occasion with a family cruise a few months later. The rest of the snowball went towards other things, such as a new-to-us vehicle, medical expenses, retirement contributions, and home repairs. It was a momentous occasion that was many years in the making. Progress was made, but not nearly enough.

Vehicle repair costs if you crash. On highway trips, set the cruise control for a few mph BELOW the speed limit. Possible decreased credit rating – costing you higher rates on any future loan you make. Possible court and legal costs if you fight the ticket.
