Career-wise while I studied biology at university I came out to find very few opportunities in my field. I sort of fell into a retail job just to make ends meet while I figured out what to do, only to find myself “typecast” into this role for the next 10 years, moving from one demanding position to another.

Finding extra money is a game for me. I have used the extra money to pay off debt, fund family trips, or build up our Christmas savings. They are a nice perk if you are able to pay off your balance every month, otherwise, you’re paying finance charges that most likely exceed the cashback that is earned.

When we were paying off debt we chose not to spend money traveling, but honestly our children were also too little to travel. To pay off our home early. What advice do you have for someone that is paralyzed by their debt load, but wants to be debt free? I have never felt deprived.

Share your top 3 – 5 tips for saving money/pinching pennies to put towards paying off your debt. Also find inexpensive entertainment in your area – there are lots of free events in your local communities to take advantage of. I guess I am spending more on travel now than I did when I was getting out of debt.
