One other thing I have started doing the last few years, is treating myself post-holiday season. Last year, I accumulated over $400 cash back from my holiday shopping.

Also, in February, I received a check of $45 from a family member who was reimbursing us from a group gift that we took care of over the holidays. I added the check to our savings.

I promise I won’t start reciting Christmas carols, but while the holidays are still somewhat fresh in our minds, I think it would be a good idea to start planning for Christmas 2019. According to The Street, “consumers will spend an average of $1007 on Christmas gifts.” Did you over spend? Add up the total.
