In previous years, I would create a long list of financial goals, only to have little accomplished by the end of the December. I almost stopped writing goals down altogether. In 2018, we decided to focus on just 2 main financial goals and before I share my 2019 goals I thought I would give you a recap on 2018.

One of the best ways to do that is to set realistic goals. In fact, one of my favorite things to do at the end of December each year is to set financial goals for the new year. I’m convinced that I’ve had such good luck achieving many of my financial goals because I write them down and keep myself accountable.

On the 25th of every month from January to November in 2013, I'm holding a virtual meeting for the Christmas Savings Club. The goal for this monthly accountability meeting is to give updates on our progress, motivate one another and help all of us save for a cash Christmas. How Did I Do in March? How Are You Doing?

Instead, I look for creative ways to save my family money in all aspects of our lives. My goal has always been to live well on less while achieving our big financial goals. 2 – We opened up high-interest savings accounts and earned $250 in interest. Frugal living is not about deprivation.

Right before the pandemic started, I opened 529 College Savings Accounts for our daughters. My oldest was in eighth grade and one of my goals for 2020 was to start saving consistently for both daughters’ college education. My Upromise strategy will help with our goal. Hello, 2020. 108 Months X $72 = $7,776!

My monthly goal is $100. I added the check to our savings. I’m challenging myself to find the cash outside of our budget.
