I’ve been an architect, day-care teacher to toddlers, and library clerk, but am currently a SAHM to a 14yo son and 9yo daughter. How did you get interested in saving money? At age 12, I started saving up my allowance and babysitting money to buy Christmas gifts for other children who were less fortunate. Childhood joy.

In the last few weeks, I’ve had three different friends come to me with a good problem to have: They have piles of money, but they have no idea what to do with that money. What has my money done for me lately? When you think about money as a tool, an as a means to an end, it doesn’t make sense to let it sit idle.

While there are plenty of blog posts out there sharing ways to save money each month , many of them are overwhelming and unrealistic. We got $20 each for doing it, and that was our vacation spending money. If we wanted extra money for something like school clothes or makeup, we were given a chore to earn it. Read that again.

We will probably be renting a car for our vacation this year. I’ve been trying to persuade my hubby to go ahead and get a newer van – we’ve got the money set aside for it, but so far no luck. Usually, if we fly somewhere and then rent a car, we just get the smallest (least expensive) type available.

We planned to rent out the property and thought it would rent quite a few days of the year. Wouldn’t it be fun to have a place where our sons, their wives and our grandchildren could come together to play, visit and bond? Operating costs of keeping the condo rented have been higher than expected. Gather the family.

At the time he was living with his brother – paying him rent and helping with bills. He didn’t want their childhood home to be taken so he purchased the home from his brother telling him that he could stay there until he got back on his feet- paying whatever rent and bills he could afford. He told him he can’t afford to help.
