It has been my obsession goal since we found ourselves in a dicey situation back in August 2013. That was the month I didn’t know if we had enough funds to cover our expenses. Between 2013 – 2015, we whittled that down and as of today we have just two loans left. Apply any Found Money to Debt.

There were a lot more fun and purposeful things we could have done with that money than pay the lender. We also didn’t feel comfortable with Dave’s suggestion of a $1000 starter emergency fund, which is his step #1. But $1000 was not nearly enough money to cover sudden emergencies in both our home and business.

Our 2019 Financial Goal. Happy New Year’s 2019: In January 2019, we were down to one final non-mortgage loan, so we created just one financial goal for the year—-to pay off that last non-mortgage debt by December. We can now move on to other financial goals. 1st Update in June 2014. 2018 Update.

It happened in 2006 and again in late 2012 to early 2013. By summer 2013, our savings was at an uncomfortable level. Our current savings is not at a true emergency fund level of 3-6 months, but further down our plan, we will save up to that level. What financial goals are you working towards?

My husband and I make some financial goals at the start of every year. This is the year that we will control our money and our debt and fear will not control us. In 2013, The Christmas Savings Club encouraged all of us to save monthly so that we could have a cash Christmas. Lots of possibilities and many opportunities.
