In 2018, we decided to focus on just 2 main financial goals and before I share my 2019 goals I thought I would give you a recap on 2018. Our 2018 Financial Goals: Finish our Will. Save $10k in a savings account, specifically earmarked for medical expenses. I almost stopped writing goals down altogether.

I have a degree in nursing and worked in pediatrics for 8 years, then left the profession right before I had my third child. I think I started reading FG regularly in 2018 or 2019. How did you get interested in saving money? As a teenager, I saved quite a bit of the money I earned babysitting and working in a dining hall.

And if you paid cash for Christmas in 2018, but want some encouragement to save for this year, this club is for you too! Now start creating a budget based on what you spent in 2018. Did you over spend? Add up the total.

If you’ve been following along since January 25, 2019, we’ve been working all year to set aside money each month to have a cash Christmas. My monthly savings goal was $100. This should cover my tentative 2019 Christmas budget that I based on what we spent in 2018. It was a pretty easy month to find the cash.

While Susan did not work outside of the home, she treated her role as the family office manager as a job and helped her family achieve financial independence over the course of her marriage. After 20 years, I switched from Quicken software to You Need a Budget (YNAB) software in 2018 for our household. Pay our bills in a timely manner.

On the 25th of every month from January to November in 2019, I will hold a virtual meeting on the blog to give updates on our progress, motivate one another, and help all of us save for a cash Christmas. This should cover my tentative 2019 Christmas budget that I based on what we spent in 2018. My monthly goal is $100.
