I thought the questions were interesting and that the survey they were a part of was even more interesting! The Walmart–commissioned survey also found that mom and dad favor educational toys and are focused on price. The survey reflects what we are seeing in our stores. This survey was so interesting to me!

In Huffington Post article Boomers Give New Meaning To Spoiling The Grandkids author Linda Stern reported: “Roughly 36 percent of the grandparents surveyed by AARP said “spoiling (grand)children by buying them too much” was a part of a grandparent’s financial role.”. Our kids need the help.

Although we think of the Great Recession starting in early 2009, it wasn’t until 2013 that the 5 year CD interest rate fell below 1% – and has stayed there ever since according to Bank Rates interest survey data. What can you even buy for $.06? Of course, depending on what we buy, we may experience some buyers remorse.
