Alone or with a friend. I was born in 1948 so my early childhood was spent in the 1950′s. I remember it as a simpler time, but a less convenient and more labor intensive era. My standard of living (and most other people’s as well) is much better now that we have all of the conveniences from the past 60 years available.

I had three baby showers when I was pregnant for my son–one from each side of the family and one from my co-workers. Many of the other items I needed like cloth diapers and clothes for the baby in bigger sizes I bought from garage sales. I’ve seen friends of mine spend hundreds of dollars per season on their infants.

I cut down a small cedar tree (which grow like weeds on our 6 acres) each year, put it in a tree stand on the porch and put white twinkle lights on it. We live on the edge of the prairie and prairie grasses grow well here. They kind of look like the ones for sale at Curious Country Creations. Save On Holiday Decorating.
