We generally don’t have a lot of medical bills–just the usual stuff like annual physicals, some blood work, and an occasional sick visit. He had his scheduling assistant call Medi-Share to confirm to save us the time. How has Medi-Shared worked for us thru July: A breakdown of our medical bills through July 2017.

Yep, I found a $20 bill last year on the beach! This money will go towards paying the actual medical bills from the injury. I said goodbye to mini-van life in January when we traded in our 2007 Honda Odyssey for a 2018 Toyota Highlander. Instead, we opted to replace the tires and take a year or so to save for a car.

Today at age 50+, I still optimize our cash flow, but my focus is shifting towards saving with our daughters’ future education costs, building our net worth, and planning for our retirement years. After 20 years, I switched from Quicken software to You Need a Budget (YNAB) software in 2018 for our household.

We ran the numbers of the purchase and they looked great on paper, but paper doesn’t account for a new server, a roof leak, unexpected medical bills, and other calamities. 2018 Update. 1 – Save a starter Home Emergency Fund. 2 – Increase business emergency savings. Our bills and responsibilities didn’t waiver however, even though our income dipped. We dramatically reduced our spending by cutting our cable TV and landline , shopping thrifty, eating out less often , and lowering our grocery bill. The student loan should be paid off by the end of 2018. So what does this mean?
