At my age, my parents had 20 years of kid-free living ahead of them to focus on their own career goals and to save for their retirement. My husband and I have always felt financially responsible.

2019 Debt Freedom Plan Update

We ran the numbers of the purchase and they looked great on paper, but paper doesn’t account for a new server, a roof leak, unexpected medical bills, and other calamities. A lot of life happened over 7 years and our plan changed slightly, but our goal remains to achieve complete freedom from debt. Our 2019 Financial Goal.

It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the bargains that stores throw at us in November and December. But if those gifts were paid with a credit card that doesn’t get paid off as soon as the bill arrives, any savings from store sales, coupons, and/or rebates might be negated from the interest accrued.

Medi-Share Update: One Year Later

We hit our Annual Household Portion (think: deductible) with this medical event and our medical bills started to be paid by the other members’ shares.
