Recycling is great for the environment and we should all be doing it (in spite of my title), but reusing is even better. When you can reuse or re-purpose an item, you are not only saving it from the landfills, but you are also saving the expense and energy which would have been expended when you recycle.

Today, I am going to share with you 8 ways you can recycle, reduce, and reuse. Concentrated products often require less packaging, resulting in less energy to transport it to the store and less plastic to recycle. Reuse what you can. We also save containers from items and reuse them for storage at a later time.

According to the organization Waste Free Lunches , the average school-age child eating lunches in disposable packaging generates some 67 pounds of waste per school year. Everything in that lunch bag can be washed and reused or at least an be dealt with in an environmentally-friendly manner. The list goes on and on.

I've tried multiple brands, but I really like Bite , because they work much better than others, taste better, and come in glass bottles that can be recycled or reused. In addition to these things, I bring along a travel hair straightener and I feel organized and like I can keep track of everything.

Do they recycle? Do they use recycled products? If there are organizations near you that are fundraising for a greener cause, participate in it. Support your local organic farmers. Recycle, recycle, recycle. Also, be sure to buy recycled products like toilet paper. Every little bit adds up.
