I’m always looking for ways to save my family money to help us get through current higher food and gas prices and achieve our big financial goals. I roasted them and put them in the freezer for future use. I use them in pasta sauce, soups, and in place of pumpkin in a lot of recipes. My Frugal Shenanigans!

Our financial goals are still important to us and we want to hit them regardless of the rising prices. I use the pesto as a sauce for hot pasta or pasta salad, pizza topping, and spread it over grilled chicken or fish. We use the bacon fat in place of butter or oil for eggs and sauteed dishes. I cooked it in my Instant Pot (look for the directions on Monday 10/23/17), and used the meat for Tuesday night’s dinner. Note to self: listen to daughter more often! garden salad.
