To my Children and my Grandchildren, Following are some of life’s lessons – learned (sometimes poorly) by me along the road winding through my 65 years on earth. Humans tend to mirror those around them, don’t mirror people just like you or you may never reach your full potential. Guard your health above all else.

Your estate’s assets may also be subject to creditors whereas other choices provide protection from your creditors. If you left a large part of your estate to someone other than your spouse your spouse may contest your designations and often might win. Grandchildren inherit but can’t get use of the money.

Here are four things I learned after having grandchildren. My Aunt and Uncle used to take each of their grandchildren on a trip when they reached the ripe old age of 8. While true, that may not be the best course of action. When the grandchildren are at your house, it can get a bit trickier. Your kid is having a kid!

My grown kids are also savers and I have high hopes that the grandchildren will follow their example. Helping the parents teach my grandchildren to save is an ongoing project of mine. Of course, depending on what we buy, we may experience some buyers remorse. You may not be comfortable doing more risky things with your money.

Even the New York Times acknowledges that: As boomers join the ranks of grandparents, many are financing vacations for their children and grandchildren. My WWII era uncle and his wife made trips annually with one of their 4 grandchildren (a different one each year). Camping may be an alternative for some.

Although he is single and lives alone, he has a decades long friendship with a woman and has come to be considered a pseudo Dad and Grandpa by her children and grandchildren, but he has no legal relationship with any of them to my knowledge. Why worry about this when it may not even come to pass. Ignore it, maybe I will die first!
